Research Connections is a platform developed by Translation Manchester, within the FBMH Research Development & Innovation (RDI) team, to help you find expertise, build collaborations, and connect across the wider health innovation ecosystem – within the University and beyond.

Whether you’re looking for collaborators, skills, or partners, Research Connections enables you to search for and connect with researchers, clinicians, professional services staff, and industry partners, all based on their expertise and keywords.

New: personalised opportunity alerts

A new feature now allows users to receive tailored communications about relevant opportunities, including:

• Funding opportunities
• Partnership opportunities
• Events
• Calls for expressions of interest

These alerts are matched to the expertise and keywords on your profile, helping you stay informed about opportunities most relevant to your work.

You can manage these notifications directly within your profile – opting in or out and updating your preferences at any time.

Looking ahead

We continue to explore ways to enhance the platform and support users. Areas under consideration include:

• An AI-assisted tool to help populate profiles using links to existing online profiles or CVs provided by users
• AI-powered suggestions to help identify relevant connections and expand networks
