Gateway to Translation Webinar: Medtechtomarket
The “Gateway to Translation” (G2T) webinar series is a joint initiative between the University of Cambridge (Cambridge Academy of Therapeutic Sciences, CATS) and the University of Manchester (Translation Manchester).
The aim of these monthly webinars is to stimulate the translation of research into the clinics by educating academics about trends, technologies and research in the commercial sphere and by facilitating collaborations between academia and the medtech, biotech and pharma industry sectors. The March 2025 webinar of this series, hosted by Translation Manchester, was on Thursday 27th March from 2-3pm (via Zoom). Our guest speaker was Dr. Matt Pearce, Founder of MedtechtoMarket Ltd, a contract design, development, and manufacturing organization serving the diagnostic and medical device industry. Dr. Pearce delivered a talk on the topic of “From lab to clinic: How to launch a commercial diagnostic”. The session was chaired by Dr. Claudia Lindner, Senior Research Fellow and Sir Henry Dale Fellow in Translational Medical Imaging at The University of Manchester. This webinar provided attendees with an overview of the journey a commercial diagnostic must take from initial concept to market readiness and regulatory approval.
